The Shoreside Health Insurance Plan℠ is for seafarers working in the cruise industry who are seeking coverage for private medical expenses for accidents and illnesses arising between contracts or while on vacation.
Eligibility
Shoreside Health Insurance Plan℠ is available to all cruise ship crew of all nationalities and domiciles employed on any non-US flagged vessel, while signed off for vacation or on a break between contracts (excluding sick leave). Maximum age for policy issue is 65.

The Shoreside Health Insurance Plan℠ is for seafarers working in the cruise industry who are seeking coverage for private medical expenses for accidents and illnesses arising between contracts or while on vacation.
- Provides coverage while between contracts or while on vacation
- Costs as little as $ 2.08/day with $ 100 deductible per policy year
- Covers all nationalities worldwide from 60 to 180 vacation days per year
- Option to exclude the US and Canada for reduced premiums
- Standard plan covers acute sickness and accident including SCUBA and winter sports to a limit of $ 500,000. Coverage for extreme sports is also available as an optional extra.
- Treatment costs are covered until you return to work or until 6 months from the date the condition started, whichever comes sooner.
- The plan will not pay for conditions which already existed before you sign off the ship or before your policy began.
- Accidental death benefit of $ 25,000
- Valid worldwide in any hospital with any doctor
- Simple online enrollment with next day coverage available
- The plan is administered by International Medical Group, USA and underwritten by Sirius International Insurance, Sweden.
This plan is only available to cruise ship crew employed on non-US flagged vessels.
